This project is the first of its kind in the State whereby a multi-level shallow underpass is constructed beneath existing roundabout at Petra Jaya. The shallow underpass has a verticle clearance of 2.6m and is only for vehicle with height less than 2.2m. All other vehicle higher than 2.2m would have to use the existing roundabout. This interchange utilises 4 numbers of submersible drainage water pump to drain out water from the lowest part of the interchange.
The project cost is RM 65 Million and was implemented using a Design and Build contract. Construction started on 26th November 2015 and finished on 8th June 2018.
