Igan Bridge is a 2-lanes single carriageway bridge located about 95km upstream from the river mouth with South China Sea. It links Sibu Town from Persiaran Brooke to Jalan Sg.Bidut/Engkilo at the west bank of Batang Igan.
It consists of 5x30m approach span at both sides with 45m+80m+45m single cell Balanced Cantilever Cast In-Situ Prestressed Box Girder which is the most efficient and economical structural system suitable for this moderate span lengths. Bridge was built by a succession of cast in-situ segments symmetrically cantilevering in both directions from the pier.
Navigation clearance has been provided under the main span. Bridge main piers are designed to withstand impact forces form vessel or barge.
