The design concept of the project is to isolate both the Police Station and Bau Town against the flooding coming in from Sg. Sarawak and Sg. Bau by raising up of the existing roads which form a flood protection earth bund. Pumping station with 4 nos. of submersible pumps (3m3/s each of pumping capacity) with preset water level sensor together with detention pond and other ancillary structures are provided to control & discharge the local rainfall water falling on the protected compartment during flooding period. In normal time when no flooding takes place, normal gravity flows through the culverts will take place with no need for pumping.
